
Christmas Walk – Home for the Holidays
There is a slight chill in the air which means that again Christmas Walk is upon us. This year we have ordered a light dusting of snow as opposed to the down pour from 2006. Make plans to visit Downtown and Mason Square on Friday, December 7 from 4 to 9 p.m. Trolleys will be available free of charge to travel back and forth between Mason Square and Downtown.Carriage rides will again be at Hudson Park starting at 4:00 p.m. and this year will be free to all riders. Remote parking (on the south side of the high school, flag pole side) with the warming area and pick up at Door #11 will again be available at Oswego High School where you can park your car and be driven to the downtown area in a bus provided by the Oswego YMCA.
This year Santa Claus will be at the Oswego Visitor’s Bureau located at 26 W. Van Buren Street starting at 5:00 p.m. on Friday night, December 7. The tree lighting by Village President Brian LeClercq will be at 6:00 p.m. and the Fire Truck Parade will be at 7:00 p.m.
On Saturday, December 8, from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. come to Traughber Junior High to have Breakfast With Santa. The Cookie Walk will again take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Downtown Oswego. Watch for more details regarding when and where to purchase the Cookie Tins and Commemorative Ornaments as well as additional activities at both Mason Square and Downtown.

The next POW! Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 11:30 – 1:00 at The Dining Car Family Restaurant (1055 Station Drive, Oswego). A special presentation by Linda Healy of Mutual Ground will be heard. Mutual Ground provides services in southern Kane County and Kendall County for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
POW! luncheons are open to Chamber members as well as non-members. Everyone attending is asked to bring an item for Mutual Ground. Cash donations are welcome or to see their wish list, visit http://www.mutualgroundinc.com/pdfs/MGWishList07.pdf.
